Learning app for toddlers
As a mother of two toddlers,
I started creating a learning game for them with elements, letters, and recognizing emotions and actions.
Description
In addition to teaching children basic concepts like shapes, letters, and numbers, my application also helps them learn to form sentences. I achieved this by incorporating characters that perform different actions, which in turn, helps children describe what each character is doing. To further aid in children's development, I also added characters that express different emotions, as understanding emotions is an important aspect of growth.
Research
I interviewed parents of young children to understand their top priorities for teaching their kids.
Problems
It is not always possible to control the content on TV and YouTube and in many cases there are unwanted advertisements.
Regarding physical educational games - you can't take them everywhere.
Regarding other educational applications - they cost money or contain many advertisements, which prevents their use.
Solutions
- The app is easy to understand, without advertisements, and for free.
- The app is interactive and will contain animations.
- Compared to physical games, playing on a smartphone or tablet can be used from anywhere and objects are not lost like in physical games.
Graphic and illustrations
To create animal and character images, I used Midjourney.
To create the rest of the graphic I used Figma and Adobe Illustrator
